The importance of sealing grease "involving more than 190,000 vehicles Changan Ford recalls Focus / Escape"

2016-02-29 14:35:00

A few days ago, Changan Ford Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products", and decided to recall some Focus and Escape models from February 26, 2016, totaling 191,368 vehicles. .

Scope of the recall: Selected 2012 New Focus vehicles manufactured between July 15, 2013, and February 18, 2014, and 2013 Escape vehicles, manufactured between July 14, 2013, and March 1, 2014.

Reason for the recall: Some vehicles are due to the lack of grease on the brake vacuum booster seal ring, resulting in premature wear of the seal ring. In extreme cases, the seal ring will be separated from the diaphragm, causing the brake pedal to become hard, and the owner will feel that the vacuum booster is insufficient. The brakes need to be applied harder, which is a safety hazard.
