In the case of humidity or easy contact with water, the choice of sodium-based grease is not suitable, not even lithium-based grease. Sodium-based grease has poor water resistance and is easy to dilute and emulsify in contact with water. In some parts, lithium-based grease cannot meet the requirements. For example, the bearings of vertical water pumps can be considered to be frequently immersed in water, while lithium-based greases also have the advantages of short service life and easy bearing damage. These parts should use compound aluminum-based grease or urea-based grease with good water resistance. Chemical Reasons:

Due to the effect of heat on the friction lubricating part and the surrounding gas, the base oil and thickener are oxidized, resulting in damage to the soap structure of the grease, softening and loss during use. Therefore, check the environment around which the grease is used to see if it is near a heat source and if there are any special chemicals that are causing the grease to be affected.

Shearing: Due to the work of the friction part, the grease is continuously affected by shear stress, which damages the soap structure and softens it.


Causes of impurities: wear debris generated during the wear process of parts. These metal powders can accelerate the oxidation of grease to generate organic acids, thereby destroying the failure of grease.


Incorrect ground grid: the grease cannot meet the current operating conditions. When selecting grease, not only the requirements of the equipment specification, but also the local minimum temperature, maximum temperature, equipment operating temperature, load, speed, size, whether there is water, and the environment must be considered. In the actual situation such as dirt, choose the grease correctly.


Grease Contamination: Grease is contaminated by water or other impurities, especially a mixture of oils and fats. Avoid mixing with grease during use, and pay attention to cleaning the old oil when the oil is changed.
